W.A.S.P were formed in late 1982.
Late in 1983, Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood went to see the band. He was extremely impressed with the music and outrageous live performances he decided to get involved. A substantial recording contract was agreed with Capitol Records in early 1984 and the band started to record their debut album “W.A.S.P”. Maybe the biggest hit of them all must be “I wanna be someboby”… For more info check out the homepage. Studio Album |
The Police are a three-piece rock band consisting of bassist/lead vocalist Sting (Gordon Sumner), guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland. The band became globally popular in the early 1980s, playing a style of rock that was influenced by jazz, reggae, and punk music. Their 1983 album Synchronicity was number one in the UK and the US and went Platinum eight times in the US. The band broke up in the mid-1980s, but reunited in early 2007 with the announcement that they are undertaking a world tour from the middle of that year on until mid-2008, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their hit single “Roxanne” and also, to a lesser extent, that of their formation as a group.

Here are two stereotypes: Nashville makes country music, and, new rock bands follow the trends set before them… Well, Buckledown isn’t country and they definitely don’t follow trends.
Perhaps Nashville’s most innovative rock sensation, Buckledown proves that the sum of a band’s line-up can cause a chain-reaction that unexpectedly explodes into something that is pure magic! Audiences are drawn in and intrigued by Buckledown’s unique blend of instruments and electrifying stage performances. Buckledown is comprised of a seasoned rock vocalist, a symphonic violinist, two Grammy nominees from Russia and a powerhouse drummer. To hear is to believe. Music fans have never experienced anything quite like this before! Singer/guitarist Daniel Gray “Gray” is a self taught musician. As the former front man of the Orlando based rock band Olive Carpet, Gray has seen his share of national success spanning from a national college tour to headlining notable venues like The Hard Rock Cafe and The House of Blues. Professionally, Gray has felt the sting of tragedy as well. Despite an impressive buzz, Apollo Records/Joan De Arc productions dropped his band just after being signed and recording their first and only album: all of this occurring under the shadow of 9/11. In February 2004, armed with a new vision and an endless spirit, Gray moved to Nashville to become a founding member of one of the most unique projects the rock world has ever seen. |
“Kings of Pain” is the premium Police Tribute Band, based out of Gainesville, Florida. Started in Spring 2007 merely to enter a cover band contest, K.O.P. ended up capturing the 1st place trophy along with an instant fan base. Realizing their potential, the band decided to become a permanent addition to the Gainesville music scene. Now, Kings of Pain has branched out into multiple cities across Florida and hopes to entertain YOU one day soon.
Kings of Pain does not conform to one specific era of The Police; the collaboration of music is derived from each individual album, blended with the energetic dynamics of documented live performance. Kings of Pain also consists of the special 4th member; a keyboardist who completes authentic textures of the more produced albums, thus enabling Kings of Pain to replicate the exact sound millions of people have become enamored by in the last 20 years. |

Welcome to the wikisingers Group for the original The Lemmings band.
The Lemmings is an acoustic rock / new-age rock band from South Africa. The band has toured to the UK and Europe twice and has created a dedicated following wherever it has performed. The band is ultimately a brilliant live act, with shows running between 1 1/2 hours and two hours of mind-blowing original music, featuring vocals, bass, drums, classical guitar and keyboards/piano. With a sound that approaches bands such as Pink Floyd, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, audiences are more likely to sit dead still and listen than to party at the shows. Catch this band live or visit iTunes.com and buy the album “Imperceptible Shift In The Light” You can also go to www.ilike.com and become a fan of The Lemmings |

For those of you who dont know who Pepper is:Although Pepper’s members are originally from Kona, HI, the trio doesn’t play traditional Hawaiian music. Rather, Pepper’s music is a melodic and accessible blend of alternative pop/rock, punk, and reggae. Formed in 1996, Pepper is hardly the only alterna-rock combo that has been inspired by Jamaican sounds. But while other punk-minded alternative pop-rockers who emerged in the ’90s were greatly influenced by either classic ’60s ska or hardcore dancehall artists like Stitchie, Ninjaman, and Bounty Killer, Pepper usually gets more inspiration from ’70s and early ’80s reggae, Pepper’s sound could be described as the Police meets Steel Pulse meets punk-pop. It isn’t hard to see the parallels between a Pepper song like “The Good Thing” and Police hits such as “Roxanne” and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” but while Sting and his colleagues sounded polished, Pepper tends to favor a rawer, more rugged approach. Two of Pepper’s three members started working together in 1996;

(By becoming a member of this group, you will count as one signature in getting The Police Every Bomb You Make released as a single through Universal Music Group and would also buy the CD single release. This Police track, possibly the biggest irony in popular music of all time, is anti George Bush, War, poverty and political corruption on the planet).
1984 Sting was asked permission by producer, John Lloyd, to include a parody version of “Every Breath You Take” on the British TV show Spitting Image. The new lyrics were written by James Glen and Quentin Reynolds. The lyrics were slightly amended for the show by script writers, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. Sting not only agreed for the producers to use the Police track, but Sting asked if they would they like him to sing it. Of course this would be a scoop and they agreed. |
