05.14.2007 RYAN ADAMS WILL NOT BE PLAYING GUITAR THIS WEEK
Without going into all the gory details, let’s just say it’s got to do with a skateboard, a 12-foot bowl, and a now-torn ligament. This is NOT anywhere near as bad as the Liverpool accident from a few years back, though…Ryan expects to be playing guitar again soon.
For now, enjoy Neal Casal playing an excellent (if right-handed) Iommi to Ryan’s lighter-weight-and-fringeless Ozzy.
just got back from the kingston show….all i can say is incredible. carolina rain starlite diner, wildflowers, so many other great tunes played tonight, and i got a chance to meet neal casal and jon graboff…along with rhett miller
Saw the show last night. Unbelievable. I twas a real disappointment to hear people heckling him to turn the lights up or to stand up. I think they were expecting something that he wasn't giving and they missed out to listen to an absolutely gorgeous concert. It was a real shame but totally amazing show.
i agree he sounded amazing last night, and played the entire "easy tiger" album pretty much and i cant even waite for the album it is going to be somehting unbelievable…i wish he would of played a little longer thoo
Morgantown, WV show was fucking amazing. His voice has never been in such great shape as long as I can remember, and "Halloween Head" was such a rocking fucking song.
Then, he covered AIC "Down in a Hole" to close the set. I couldn't have asked for a better RA & The Cards show.
Nooo I just missed out on tickets for KOKO…anyone have a spare pleeeease let me know…or even Manchester I will probably be interested! Can't wai to see him play the new stuff from easy tiger.
don't know why i haven't joined before. <- hope you like the profile pic! i'm going to the man uni ball at city of manchester stadium the same night as the academy 2 gig. i'm very sad!
is anyone going to the Carved In Stone Show August 3rd at Redrocks? If so…..do you know if it is RA and the Cards or is he solo? I would assume he is with the band……
I just won beautiful Ryan tickets for Manchester's gig on Ebay (way outta my original price plan but hey..), so I have a spare now if anyone's wanting to buy and come with?!
im gonna try to be at that red rocks one even if it means quitting my job early. i assume hes with the cards for that one too because red rocks is such good sound fo ra full band.
Hey, I was there last night. Someone said on another board that he was quite sick, so that might have had something to do with it. I was disapointed with the choice of songs actually. No Two, no Everybody Knows, no New York, NY, no Come Pick Me up. I was considering going tonight to see if it would be better, but I can't afford it.
I had a fantastic time at last night's show in Sydney and a fantastic time tonight too. Two completely different shows. I'm glad I got a bit of everything.
I think Ryan Adams is the best songwriter of our time and I think eventually he will get the respect he deserves when people realize that cold roses is one of the best and most complete rock albums made in this era.
I've been bothered lately by a lyric I can't place with a song…probably because I can't get the wording correct enough to google it. It was along the lines of 'If it was bad, it's cause bad is what you (did?)'. =/ Anyone?
Well, i just recently brought Easy Tiger and what can i say but that i was blown away again with a piece of musical genius! 'Halloweenhead', 'Goodnight Rose', 'Two' and the 'Sun Also Sets' are my favs! Rock on Ryan ur music is amazing!
the new e.p. is supposed to have "my love for you is real" on it, which is super cool. i don't what's with ryan digging up all these old songs again, but it's pretty cool.
i got the version of easy tiger with the bonus 3 song dvd, i wish it had the whole album on it or that ryan releases another dvd with more songs than that crazy jamaican one.
ryan's show tonite in ann arbor (MI) was amazing…oh my sweet carolina, sylvia plath (solo piano), call me on your way back home (solo acoustic), the rescue blues, goodnight hollywood blvd, and so so much more! unbelievable, and I'm so envious of all of you who get to see him and the cardinals soon!
I thought I was going to die, the Massey Hall show was so damn good. All I can say is when he sat down and played the opening chords to Sweet Li'l Gal (23rd and 1st), I realized I could have died happy in that moment. I'd given up all hope that I'd hear my fave song live, and then… there it was! What a darling.
Ryan is an absolute LEGEND!!!!, one of best songwriters in years. He's influenced my music in a big BIG way. Long live Mr Adams and may you rock for ever more!!!!!
not very tall. with shoes on, like 5'9/10 ish. i was totally stunned for a moment. unfortunately he was walking in the opposite direction and looked like he was in a hurry, so i couldn't have even briefly professed my admiration.
If anyone needs some rare unreleased Ryan Adams songs checkout this thread! Just start on the last page and work your way back because the links on the first 90 or so pages don't work anymore. But you can get it all here! 48 hours, suicide handbook, live shows, exile on franklin st, ect….. ENJOY!
New album…about time. Like the cover, like the song on the raining banana page. Now there better be at least one more album out before the end of 2007.
Cool, if i can find a cheap flight to England i will be there! I am checking on the Internet but does anyone know which airport the closest by is? thank u!
I can't believe that the Stonehenge show was cancelled. The excuse was so silly (as if they couldn't forsee that beforehand). Now I don't even think he is coming to the UK at all
I was in Minneapolis last night, and The show was going really great, it was amazing performances, and I thought Ryan was having a fine enough time, and then he just left after 70 minute show with no encore, everyone just cheered for an encore for a while and then the lights came on and everyone just stood around shocked for like 20 minutes we were all really dissapointed in it - nobody had any idea what happened I am a ginormous ryan fan and the time he was there was amazing but that is just not cool at all:(
I think since Ryan Adams became more of a hands on producer and mixer of his albums, he's overly critical of the sound itself. It's to be expected with a guy like Ryan who does have sort of an ego, but he's still one of the best. He just needs to understand that the perfect sound through monitors is not always gonna happen. he just needs to remember playing in bars in jacksonville…those probably didn't have the great sound that some of the venues he'll be stopping at!
even if that is the story, i still really love and respect the guy musically.
Some of the shows on this tour were 70 minutes anyways. He played a theater called the Enwave in Toronto which is acoustically phenomenal (it's meant for opera and theater), and had a great sound set up, and they played 70 minutes and left, no encore, there as well. Two months later he played at Massey Hall in Toronto which also has good sound/acoustics, and they played for 2 hours and Ryan spoiled us with a solo encore. I think it's decided before hand. There was no hesitation at the Enwave, when they were done playing the lights went on right away.
i was at the kingston show and he played a real quick set, i thought it was great though. i dont understand why hes catching so much shit for playing 70 minute sets, thats a pretty good amount of time to be up there, especially when youre sober
Pete, 70 minutes is a pitiful amount of time to be up there — 90 minutes is a short set and that's how long he played the last time he was in Minneapolis. I can't say enough that I LOVE Ryan Adams and I still do and I always will because of his huge talent, how much I relate to his music, and how much he normally gives to his fans. BUT for this show to make national news you need to admit that it had to be pretty disappointing to everybody there and we are right to be let down.
youve got the right to be let down and all, but hes not a jukebox or anything.. he had a crappy day at work, cut the man some slack.. i mean, he did put out a shitload of pretty good albums
70 minutes is unacceptable, it was the only problem with the show (the quality was really terrific) and the only reason it made national news, because its amazingly short. The Cardinals are on a national HEADLINING tour, a point almost no band gets to, and 70 minutes doesn't cut it. I know it was not a "meltdown" because I was there, probably the worst part is that nobody has any clue as to why he just stopped playing.
We Halloweenheads aren't used to being kept in the dark like that because usually we at least like to think that we understand Ryan because he gives so much of himself. I do cut him slack because I am still a huge fan, and youre right, if you count his unreleased stuff too he's put out about 20 some albums of great material in about 7 years with much more to come
mainly - 70 minutes = let down especially when you should be expecting about 2 hours from a headliner and possibly over 3 hours on a great night from Ryan and the boys
its true, but every show your gonna go to isnt gonna be some 3 hour bruce springsteen set.. i know its a bit disappointing, but the shows not about you man
i just feel the bar is set too high, you know? i mean, i could see why your disappointed.. im not trying to piss you off or anything, someones gotta stick up for the guy
I'm just wondering why the Toronto papers didn't write up the Enwave short show as a "temper tantrum". They wrote about it being a good show with great music and some rowdy crowd members. Yet we had the exact same outcome as you did in Minneapolis. He was even using his fingers as little antennae, pointing out moniter stuff at the sound man. Strange how the exact same show time can garner such a different response. Of course I (probably we) was disappointed that it was short, but the rest of the show rocked. And like I said, next time he came around, over 2 hours. I agree with Pete. Cut him some slack, it was just a shorter show. I paid an obscene $400 for those 70 minutes. I was just happy to be able to spend some time aurally surrounded by Ryan.
I can see where people are arguing this. And both are making valid points. I think the overall statement to be made is I (and most likely we all) don't want a good Ryan Adams concert to end b/c he is upset with technical difficulties. I personally have never understood monitors so I probably can't talk about the mundaneness of monitor sound difficulties. I know that Liam from Oasis hated them also and bands like them and DMB or Radiohead have switched from Monitors to the ear monitors. Ryan is pretty prolific though, I'm sure he likes what he likes and has found his niche on stage. But like I said, its sort of childish, if the story holds true, to end a show on your fans, possibly to some who drove a long ways or paid lots of money to see him, just because you weren't happy with a piece of equipment.
But I'm VERY excited to see him this Friday in St. Louis. Driving 2 hours. Correct sir, being in the same room as that man is enough for me.
thanks pete, I'm not trying to attack the guy or anything, i hope thats not the impression i'm giving. and the enwave show was very much like the cedar show in minneapolis, it was expected to be short cause it was so intimate. that's why those ones are not a big deal.
yeah, plus, his sets are changing too, you know? he doesnt drink anymore, and from what ive seen/heard, he doesnt play as much guitar anymore.. i gotta scalp tickets on halloween, i hope it works out, haha
Stood on a street corner with Ryan in St. Louis 2 1/2 hours before the show started. Walked across the crosswalk and only exchanged a "hey" with him. I'm a flipping idiot!
you, sir, are merely a fool. but i have walked down the street with him in nyc (ok…next to him) and didn't say anything, so I am the idiot. there was so much I wanted to say! I couldn't even come out with "i love your work." geez. talk about an opportunity lost.
He walked by my car in the parking lot before a show once. We were like "look at this weirdo in really tight jeans and big white sunglasses." Wasn't sure it was him until he walked on stage donning the same garb. Felt like a jackass. though it probably worked out better b/c we would have looked like assholes honking our horn and waving.
Oh, where did you hear that, Pete? Do you mean to say that it's not one of the unreleased albums/sessions that are already been circulating?! That would be fantastic!
Check out my cold roses tattoo, had it done today and really happy with it. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v293/estherfreak/? action=view¤t=DSC007 28.jpg
i can't believe i'm going to miss his gigs in sweden. it sucks. well, they're sold out anyways and i'm not going to be in the country then… oh well, next time hopefully :/
ah, esther, i love your tattoo. i'm not brave enough to face the commitment of a tattoo, but i've always said if i were to get any tattoo it would be that exactly, just smaller and in a different place. it's great though!
bryce Thanks! It hurt like hell, but I was determined to make the ultimate commitment! Aside from marriage, which I don't think will happen. But you never know!
his contract is up, and its just time, they want him to put out another heartbreaker, and put out albums to increase his audience, and you know ryan he jsut what do to whatever he wants, i mean hes mean with them for a long time
oh yeh make sure to check out jesse malins new album, im not sure if ryan had any hand in it but it should be good http://www.jessemalin.com/jesse.html , he also has sample tracks on his myspace
Soooo does anyone know of this channel called IFC? Cause I guess Ryan is going to be on it April 20th but I've never even heard of that station before.
Tickets for the intimate show are very limited and avaialble by special arrangement only.
Terms and conditions of purchase will be confirmed and tickets issued in April, though fans can register their interest in attending by emailing marketing@salisburyfestiva l.co.uk.
from Uncut Magazine ………. Prolific alt.rock singer/songwriter Ryan Adams has confirmed that he will be taking the opportunity to play a special album launch show at Stonehenge this Summer. The show on June 5 will be one of the few times a gig has been set in this gloriously pagan Wiltshire setting, and is part of the Salisbury International Art Festival. Ryan Adams has continued to record on several projects this year - putting together the final touches for latest - and ninth - studio album "Easy Tiger" which is due for release on the same day as the Stonehenge show. The follow up to 2006's "29" has the following confirmed tracklisting, revealed this week: 'Goodnight Rose' 'Everybody Knows' 'The Sun Also Sets' 'Halloween Head' 'Off Broadway' 'Two Hearts' 'Tears Of Gold' 'These Girls' 'Two' 'I Taught Myself How To Grow Old' 'Oh My God, Whatever, Etc.' 'Rip Off' 'Pearls On A String'
howdy all… please check out my music page…. myspace.com/blindtobeautym usic …. and if you like the song add 'blind to beauty' to your friends on myspace…let me know what you think about the single…currently it's @ 382 plays, and I'm hoping to get it to 1000 plays by midnight on this saturday (2/17)…thanks for the support, I appreciate it…later days
So I was at the atlanta show last night and it was pretty good except he didn't come back out for an encore…kinda sucked cause everyone was cheering for him cause we love him…:(
went to the birmingham show last night. EXCELLENT performance, but ended on a pretty sour note. some frat boys in the audience kept yelling out requests, pissed ryan off, and he ended the show abruptly only about 20 minutes into the second set. even with the sucky ending, the show was totally worth the time and money i spent.
Anyone need a ticket to Ryan's show in Indy (at Murat) on Wednesday? I have one, and only one ticket. It will go to the person with the best offer by tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6:00 PM. Ticket cost was $27 and the show is sold out.
If you can, check out ryan's show on yahoo.com. You may have to check it out thru youtube, just use the keywords "ryan adams nissan set". It's amazing and the Q&A is pretty cool also.
that yahoo interview was great. i liked when he exchanged places with the lady who wanted him (but not the band??) to play her brother's wedding. i can only imagine the thoughts that go through that man's head…
Columbus…rocked…I actually met Ryan like an hour before they came on..he was freaking out about the setlist which he still needed to make..he was cool…took what little time he did have and said whats up to me…I had be there waiting for him since 2…simply amazing…cant wait to see him in NY…Spooky E represent
I just saw him yesterday in Pittsburgh. Good show overall except for two things: (1) they started at 8:30 and ended at 11:00 due to a "strict curfew" and (2) I couldnt hear his vocals that clearly!!
This group should be based in new york, or South/north carolina, seeing as "la" ain't even a state anyways, (even though it is probably bigger than a few states..)
i just saw him in nyc–he was great! but i think the venue was way too large which means the audience was way too large. a lot of them seemed like they were there just because it was the cool thing to do. a bunch kept talking and checking their email through the whole thing and wouldn't even applaud after he busted his ass for over 3 hours doing two sets and an encore. it was a little upsetting. but he sounds and looks better than ever.
I just saw him at DAR the other night. It was good. only one song off jacksonvill city and a less folky than i had hoped for. some songs def stood out above the rest though(especially The Sun Also Sets and the high note he hits in live versions of Please Do Not Let Me Go)
At the NYC show…I know he played that slowed down version of Halloween Head, but I thought for sure they'd play the song "halloween"… I was so sure of it that I was actually looking forward to it! But I See Monsters was a nice surprise.
And wouldn't you know it… the reviews of the show were less than stellar. What do people want from this man??? Three hours of amazing music. One reviewer actually said that they missed the banter he used to be so famous for. And if he bantered, you know they would have called him a fucking idiot or something like they always do. Man, it gets me so mad.
I've seen him play 4 times on this tour and this was BY FAR the best show. Ever. Those critics need to go looking for someone else to piss on… it's been like 10 years of it now.
Lisa- I absolutely agree. He and the Cardinals worked their asses off in nyc; it was incredible. The critics are such idiots. Ryan was absolutely amazing. I love how he keeps the stage kinda dark and somewhat hides in the shadows. It feels like I'm watching a private session or something. I just love the man (and the band).
I went to my first Ryan Adams concert in Charleston, SC a few weeks ago. I have to say that he is by far one of the most talented musicians I have come across in a very long time. What blew my mind was how incredible he was live. I am a huge fan now and plan on making it to every show I can.
i heard that the reason he cancelled his tour, was due to the fact the he may be in rehab. and i was also told by promowest that he wasnt going to finish his new album….anyone know anything???? let me know
Ryan: whatever the case may be Good Luck and my thoughts are with you
ok, im really crap with the whole torrent thing. i really want a good recent acoustic bootleg. any recommendations, and any advice of where to get it from?
http://www.rao-forums.com/showthread.phpp=43556#post 43556 Great site for unreleased stuff… the links dont work up to about page 60, but after that just about all of them will, and you can get most everything you want in the last 30 pages…. Thanks Key
with regards to the wonderwall cover, i agree. so good in fact that when ryans got released, noel thought it was so good he recorded it himself too. you know you've done well when noel gallagher covers your version of HIS song!
The sad dracula stuff (and bits of warren peace and Hello Gracie and things) are actually really good songs. Maybe better than Rock N Roll. The sad part?… Maybe it's because he hasn't released anything this year, but I quite like some of the DJ Reggie releases!!
So i've been watching the september video on youtube… and i think its Part 3 where "The Hardest Part" is shown, and i have been searching for the tabs for the exact way he was playing it, but i cant find any:(, only the ones on ultimate-guitar.com and its not the way he was playing itt…… anybody know where i can get that :(…..
All Ryan Adams needs to do is release one more album. He's definitely prolific, but somehow it's all quality. (with the exception of the song "wish you were here" which is some of the worst song writing I've ever heard.) that's unique.
ryan's on the cover of paste magazine this month… really long profile, actually. not a total copy of all other interviews. http://www.pastemagazine.com/action/article/5566/fea ture/music/ryan_adams

Yeah it's really freaking good. It's on his myspace now.
Very much like "Harder Now That It's Over," but in a good way. This record will be incredible.
No good…from his website:

yea, he could've played longer, but i really didn't mind, i was pleasently suprised at the length of the set. was expecting it to be much shorter
That bloody Ryan Adams! Can he for once not do a gig when I have exams!!! He does rule though…
Morgantown, WV show was fucking amazing. His voice has never been in such great shape as long as I can remember, and "Halloween Head" was such a rocking fucking song.

Was anyone else at the Sydney gig last night? Really, really disappointing.
I'm lost for words.

It's Harder Now That It's Over
I hope they don't wait too long before touring here again.

Who hates getting messages and friend requests from Casey Frazier? I do!
Hey, no one wants to hear your music!
The requests are really irritating.
I've been bothered lately by a lyric I can't place with a song…probably because I can't get the wording correct enough to google it. It was along the lines of 'If it was bad, it's cause bad is what you (did?)'. =/ Anyone?
Yeah, I just got a friend request from Casey Frazier too.
I consider it SPAM!
We should all report him!
Well, i just recently brought Easy Tiger and what can i say but that i was blown away again with a piece of musical genius! 'Halloweenhead', 'Goodnight Rose', 'Two' and the 'Sun Also Sets' are my favs! Rock on Ryan ur music is amazing!

i got the version of easy tiger with the bonus 3 song dvd, i wish it had the whole album on it or that ryan releases another dvd with more songs than that crazy jamaican one.

Miss Sunflower is the best song ever.

June 5th - Wiltshire, UK - Stonehenge
Cool, if i can find a cheap flight to England i will be there! I am checking on the Internet but does anyone know which airport the closest by is? thank u!
I can't believe that the Stonehenge show was cancelled. The excuse was so silly (as if they couldn't forsee that beforehand). Now I don't even think he is coming to the UK at all
This is sooo silly, didnt they think of this before they even thought up the idea of having it at Stonehenge! Shame :o(

*the half-story.
I was in Minneapolis last night, and The show was going really great, it was amazing performances, and I thought Ryan was having a fine enough time, and then he just left after 70 minute show with no encore, everyone just cheered for an encore for a while and then the lights came on and everyone just stood around shocked for like 20 minutes we were all really dissapointed in it - nobody had any idea what happened
I am a ginormous ryan fan and the time he was there was amazing but that is just not cool at all:(
I think since Ryan Adams became more of a hands on producer and mixer of his albums, he's overly critical of the sound itself.
Anywho - can't wait to see him next Friday in st. louis. Home of the other Cardinals!
BUT for this show to make national news you need to admit that it had to be pretty disappointing to everybody there and we are right to be let down.
thats over an hours worth of material to play, a perfectly acceptable amount.. i play in a band, and i can see where hes coming from
youve got the right to be let down and all, but hes not a jukebox or anything.. he had a crappy day at work, cut the man some slack.. i mean, he did put out a shitload of pretty good albums
like, i dont see it as a "meltdown" or a "tantrum" or anything
70 minutes is unacceptable, it was the only problem with the show (the quality was really terrific) and the only reason it made national news, because its amazingly short. The Cardinals are on a national HEADLINING tour, a point almost no band gets to, and 70 minutes doesn't cut it. I know it was not a "meltdown" because I was there, probably the worst part is that nobody has any clue as to why he just stopped playing.
We Halloweenheads aren't used to being kept in the dark like that because usually we at least like to think that we understand Ryan because he gives so much of himself.
I do cut him slack because I am still a huge fan, and youre right, if you count his unreleased stuff too he's put out about 20 some albums of great material in about 7 years with much more to come
mainly - 70 minutes = let down
especially when you should be expecting about 2 hours from a headliner and possibly over 3 hours on a great night from Ryan and the boys
its true, but every show your gonna go to isnt gonna be some 3 hour bruce springsteen set.. i know its a bit disappointing, but the shows not about you man
i just feel the bar is set too high, you know? i mean, i could see why your disappointed.. im not trying to piss you off or anything, someones gotta stick up for the guy
Correct sir, being in the same room as that man is enough for me.
thanks pete, I'm not trying to attack the guy or anything, i hope thats not the impression i'm giving.
and the enwave show was very much like the cedar show in minneapolis, it was expected to be short cause it was so intimate. that's why those ones are not a big deal.
yeah, plus, his sets are changing too, you know? he doesnt drink anymore, and from what ive seen/heard, he doesnt play as much guitar anymore.. i gotta scalp tickets on halloween, i hope it works out, haha
there are some Ryan tix for halloween on craigslist and other sales sites for a pretty reasonable price. i got two and can't wait.
SO EXCITED TO SEE RYAN AND THE GANG TOMORROW IN ST. LOUIS!!!
Must have re-released tix to the Halloween show in NYC. Just got them for $32!!!
i just got some too, i thought they were sold out or something
Stood on a street corner with Ryan in St. Louis 2 1/2 hours before the show started. Walked across the crosswalk and only exchanged a "hey" with him. I'm a flipping idiot!
you, sir, are merely a fool. but i have walked down the street with him in nyc (ok…next to him) and didn't say anything, so I am the idiot. there was so much I wanted to say! I couldn't even come out with "i love your work." geez. talk about an opportunity lost.
I know! once you're in that situation or that moment, you really can't come up with anything to say!!!
He has a new EP coming out on the 23rd of this month. I should not be this excited for a seven song EP.
http://www.billboard.com/b bcom/news/article_display. jsp?vnu_content_id=1003642 565
yah, but you can be this excited for the EP plus Boxed Set coming out next year
i hear an album that was supposed to come out between heartbreaker and gold has surfaced, and it might be a separate release from the box set
Oh, where did you hear that, Pete?
Do you mean to say that it's not one of the unreleased albums/sessions that are already been circulating?! That would be fantastic!
i was just kidding
haw haw
Check out my cold roses tattoo, had it done today and really happy with it. /albums/v293/estherfreak/? action=view¤t=DSC007 28.jpg

ah, esther, i love your tattoo. i'm not brave enough to face the commitment of a tattoo, but i've always said if i were to get any tattoo it would be that exactly, just smaller and in a different place. it's great though!
Jarryd,
i'm looking for tickets for oct 31, are you selling? lol
haha, its like drugs
bryce
Thanks! It hurt like hell, but I was determined to make the ultimate commitment! Aside from marriage, which I don't think will happen.
But you never know!
his contract is up, and its just time, they want him to put out another heartbreaker, and put out albums to increase his audience, and you know ryan he jsut what do to whatever he wants, i mean hes mean with them for a long time
oh yeh make sure to check out jesse malins new album, im not sure if ryan had any hand in it but it should be good http://www.jessemalin.com/ jesse.html , he also has sample tracks on his myspace
Ryan played some guitar on Malin's Glitter in the Gutter. And Springsteen does vocals on "Broken Radio."

The follow up to 2006's "29" has the following confirmed tracklisting, revealed this week:
'Goodnight Rose'
'Everybody Knows'
'The Sun Also Sets'
'Halloween Head'
'Off Broadway'
'Two Hearts'
'Tears Of Gold'
'These Girls'
'Two'
'I Taught Myself How To Grow Old'
'Oh My God, Whatever, Etc.'
'Rip Off'
'Pearls On A String'
does anyone have "the hardest part" tabs, but the way that ryan plays it in the "september documentary"… ive been trying to figure it out for days:(
its in the key of d, so just slap a capo on the second fret and figure it out
http://rao-forums.com/show thread.php?t=4219&highligh t=Hardest+Part
i saw a cover of bono doing when the stars go blue on youtube, and it was pretty bad

Doubtful.

im jsut interested in peoples what people think La Cienaga means??????????
its a street in LA, but its probably about some girl
thats how i like to imagine it, anyway
i read somewhere it was about a prostitute which makes sense if you think about it
hey, thats pretty cool
It's probably about Winona Ryder too, LA days
according to play.com the new ryan adams album called easy tiger will be released on the 4th june 2007
yup.
who knows, its gonna be cool though
now according to harp, he's releasing one june 5th called "steady tiger" here's the link
http://www.harpmagazine.co m/news/detail.cfm?article= 10944
im really not believing anything about anythign being released though until he's said somethign on his site or lost highway has something about it.
June 5th… Easy Tiger… its on Lost Highway now, so I'm pretty sure that makes it official
this will prob be his last album on lost highway
hmmm why will it be his last?.. did he scrap with them or sumthing *-)… im so outta the loop lmao
So I was at the atlanta show last night and it was pretty good except he didn't come back out for an encore…kinda sucked cause everyone was cheering for him cause we love him…:(
went to the birmingham show last night. EXCELLENT performance, but ended on a pretty sour note. some frat boys in the audience kept yelling out requests, pissed ryan off, and he ended the show abruptly only about 20 minutes into the second set. even with the sucky ending, the show was totally worth the time and money i spent.
shot in the dark, but does anyone have an extra nyc oct. 31 ticket
ryan adams and whiskeytown ; best performers i've ever heard !
Saw him in the ATL on the 14th. This line up of the cardinals is the best it has ever been, and the show was amazing.
i still have 2 floor (standing room) in NY. on the 31st…want to go, but just cant.
Anyone need a ticket to Ryan's show in Indy (at Murat) on Wednesday? I have one, and only one ticket. It will go to the person with the best offer by tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6:00 PM. Ticket cost was $27 and the show is sold out.
Is Ryan having anyone opening for him on his current tour?
If anyone is opening for him, I can't find it anywhere - it's not listed anywhere.
Ryan Adams at the Murat Theater, Indianapolis, IN:
The seat that I am selling is: Orchestra-Right, Row P, Seat 8
Ticket goes to person with best offer by 6 PM today.
I still have 2 floor seats to the NY show on the 31st. if interested get at me!
Anyone by chance going to the Lakewood, Oh show?
Whats everyone think of Follow The Lights? I'm loving it, just wish it was a full length album instead of an EP.
amazing.. blue hotel never sounded so good// same with dear, john..
does anyone have the WHISKEYTOWN session called "Those werent the days" ??? Big tunes on it I hear//
If you can, check out ryan's show on yahoo.com. You may have to check it out thru youtube, just use the keywords "ryan adams nissan set". It's amazing and the Q&A is pretty cool also.
nobody is opening for ryan on this tour or at least they haven't so far and i have since him twice since may
that yahoo interview was great. i liked when he exchanged places with the lady who wanted him (but not the band??) to play her brother's wedding.
i can only imagine the thoughts that go through that man's head…
Columbus…rocked…I actually met Ryan like an hour before they came on..he was freaking out about the setlist which he still needed to make..he was cool…took what little time he did have and said whats up to me…I had be there waiting for him since 2…simply amazing…cant wait to see him in NY…Spooky E represent
Indianapolis was just plain amazing…over three hours of music AND after the show Ryan came out and signed/ talked to fans waiting outside!
cant wait for wednesday
I went to the Cleveland show on Saturday. They played a three hour set and it was totally imazing. He even taught us how to make twinkie soup!!
lol i was at that cleveland show too.
absolutly amazing!
he drank so much diet coke
In reply to Jason http://music.yahoo.com/pro mo-31904706-222-20070904-
There all there
amazing!
How can i forget the 1 time I heard "wonderwall" by him, it was incredible..
I just saw him yesterday in Pittsburgh. Good show overall except for two things: (1) they started at 8:30 and ended at 11:00 due to a "strict curfew" and (2) I couldnt hear his vocals that clearly!!
anyone who met ryan adams… how did you meet him?
Is there a box set coming?
yup. sometime in '08.
This group should be based in new york, or South/north carolina, seeing as "la" ain't even a state anyways, (even though it is probably bigger than a few states..)
i believe LA stands for Louisiana the creator's home state, but i see where you are coming from
i just saw him in nyc–he was great! but i think the venue was way too large which means the audience was way too large. a lot of them seemed like they were there just because it was the cool thing to do. a bunch kept talking and checking their email through the whole thing and wouldn't even applaud after he busted his ass for over 3 hours doing two sets and an encore. it was a little upsetting. but he sounds and looks better than ever.
the new york show was great.. jon graboff was a bit of a prick to us after the show, but it was still cool.. haha
NYC…bringin it home..nice job all the way around…best show ever…down in a whole!
the ep is excellent
I just love the man (and the band).
yeah, he never has good luck with critics
I went to my first Ryan Adams concert in Charleston, SC a few weeks ago. I have to say that he is by far one of the most talented musicians I have come across in a very long time. What blew my mind was how incredible he was live. I am a huge fan now and plan on making it to every show I can.
it's RA's birthday today.
it's bryan adams' birthday, too. ;\
man, disc 2 goes by too fast
Yeah I think disc two is better than one even though both are great
Hmm, I think that disc two although different, is about par, maybe a little under number one.
But Cold Roses is a fantastic album either way.
Quite possibly my favorite behind Heartbreaker.
i heard that the reason he cancelled his tour, was due to the fact the he may be in rehab. and i was also told by promowest that he wasnt going to finish his new album….anyone know anything???? let me know
Ryan: whatever the case may be Good Luck and my thoughts are with you
ok, im really crap with the whole torrent thing. i really want a good recent acoustic bootleg. any recommendations, and any advice of where to get it from?
ya i cant imagine hes going to rehab, hes been sober for six months..
I got sum older bootleg tracks, demos, 'n such, but not much in the way of "new" bootlegs
can anyone give me any tips on where to get some bootlegs… like Suicide Handbook or 48 Hours… or anything like that
I recently got both here: showthread.php?p=43556#pos t43556

If Ryan ever used wikisingers, he'd need to head this group:
Props to Noel for actually saying something positive about anything or anyone. Oasis is never gonna realize that they aren't the Beatles.
That being said, "Wonderwall" is a fantastic song, and Ryan's version is definitely the best.
i like oasis, their first two albums are great, theyre no beatles though
How good is this line from peaceful valley?Up there in the clouds in that glorious kingdom, tell me there ain't nothing but an easy recline
How do people feel about the eleven albums he posted on his website?
http://www.ryan-adams.com/ cardinalRadio.html
The albums are hilarious. My favorite is Hillbilly Joel.
The Sad Dracula and War and Peace albums are actually really good
unfortunately they were taken down but the mp3s are around
with regards to the wonderwall cover, i agree. so good in fact that when ryans got released, noel thought it was so good he recorded it himself too. you know you've done well when noel gallagher covers your version of HIS song!
The sad dracula stuff (and bits of warren peace and Hello Gracie and things) are actually really good songs. Maybe better than Rock N Roll. The sad part?… Maybe it's because he hasn't released anything this year, but I quite like some of the DJ Reggie releases!!
So i've been watching the september video on youtube… and i think its Part 3 where "The Hardest Part" is shown, and i have been searching for the tabs for the exact way he was playing it, but i cant find any:(, only the ones on ultimate-guitar.com and its not the way he was playing itt…… anybody know where i can get that :(…..

its great.
shit! starfire is bloody good, isn't it?
let it ride is such a great song
http://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=pd-Z1zjlf8g so good! Watch and enjoy
All Ryan Adams needs to do is release one more album. He's definitely prolific, but somehow it's all quality. (with the exception of the song "wish you were here" which is some of the worst song writing I've ever heard.) that's unique.
wish you were here is a pretty good song, from a songwriting standpoint, haha

shitload of cool bootlegs, lots of whiskeytown stuff!
seriously!
Can't wait to see him at Hammersmith on Friday - woohoo!!
