You know…I'm just gonna throw this out there, Beyonce is one of the most talented women to step on a stage, and for her to want to cover one of Aaliyah's hits is nothing but pure flattery… Aaliyah is known for this song and if Beyonce were to redue it, she would be giving credit where credit is due… and we all know that Beyonce can sing like no other woman can, so I highly doubt that she would ruin the song… The song is a hell of a good song and Aaliyah was at the head of the game when she sang it… now Beyonce is at the head of the game so to cover it would re-establish the greatness that is One in a Million…

Honestly, if beyonce wants to do a cover of Aaliyah's song then that's her perogative. So many songs have been covered and sung beautifully, but everyone knows who the true artist that made it was and never made a big deal about it. Imitation is a form of flattery, and Beyonce has said one time she looked up to Aaliyah's talent and singing growing up. The sales will speak for themselves, if she does a good job, then she's keeping Aaliyah's essence alive, if she flops it, then that's her shit she has to deal with. So just low her, its not a crime.

She cannot do this. One In A Million is one of my favourite slow jams of all time. When I first heard it I was blown away. I love the off-beat drums with the smooth synths and that haunting guitar that just drives the tune along.
Beyonce's vocals are good but maybe in this instance just too strong for this tune! Aaaliyah's vocals are really understated and let the tune ride where it needs to. Beyonce has a tendency nowadays to up the ante on every single note and that's not what the song needs. Subtlety is not her strong note.
Also, how can anyone better that classic "boom da boom da boom boom" Timabaland drum pattern on this track! Its insane!
